Quick answer
Golden City is an outer Ring 3 region. Bring a late-game ship and a complete crew, reveal the region, and treat its many event slots as a route-planning problem rather than expecting one fixed event order.

Prepare before Ring 3
- Repair the hull and refill the ship at a Pier.
- Check that every required crew slot is filled.
- Carry enough supplies for several encounters, not just the first marker.
- Keep Cohesion above your emergency floor.
- Save before a long regional chain if you are learning the events.
Ring 3 contains final quests, valuable side content, recurring Silver opportunities, and stronger Crown attacks. If a ship only barely survives Ring 2, upgrade it before sailing farther out.

Read the map before choosing a route
The Golden City dataset maps dozens of possible event slots, including start and end ports, traders, patrols, smuggling runs, shipwrecks, and named quest beats. You will not see every event in one fixed order.
- Reveal nearby markers before selecting the deepest objective.
- Use ports to shorten return trips when your route allows it.
- Clear a safe path instead of bouncing between opposite edges of the region.
- Keep one exit plan for a damaged ship.
Run each event safely
During an event, read the recommended ship characteristics and the current objective before choosing an action. Protect both Health and Crew: losing either can cost the ship. A high percentage on one action does not make the entire event safe.

Common mistakes
- Entering Ring 3 with an under-crewed ship.
- Assuming the database slot list is a guaranteed event order.
- Chasing a distant reward after the ship has taken serious damage.
- Spending Cohesion until one bad event can end the run.
- Forgetting that travel time continues while the haven needs attention.
What success looks like
Golden City is revealed, your ship completes the chosen chain without reaching critical Health or Crew, and you return with enough reserve to repair and sail again. If the route only works after repeated reloads, improve the ship before attempting the next outer-ring objective.
